Existe tanta literatura al respecto que ser\u00eda imposible resumirlo todo en este art\u00edculo. Esto no es s\u00f3lo la consecuencia de que ciertos microorganismos de nuestra microbiota tengan preferencia por un tipo de alimentos u otro, desarroll\u00e1ndose m\u00e1s seg\u00fan lo que comemos (efecto prebi\u00f3tico de la comida). Es un mecanismo mucho m\u00e1s complejo en el que ciertos alimentos pueden provocar reacciones inflamatorias diferentes a nivel intestinal, ciertos g\u00e9rmenes favorecen o inhiben el desarrollo de otros, o ciertos componentes de los alimentos, y en especial los aditivos, productos fitosanitarios y otros, pueden ser t\u00f3xicos para algunos microorganismos m\u00e1s que para otros. Hay que destacar el uso de pesticidas, antibi\u00f3ticos y antif\u00fangicos (antibi\u00f3ticos espec\u00edficos para hongos y levaduras) en los alimentos, tanto en los alimentos administrados al ganado, las aves o a los peces de piscifactor\u00eda, como directamente a los alimentos de cultivo destinados a los humanos para evitar plagas y mejorar su conservaci\u00f3n. El consumo frecuente de esto alimentos tratados con fitoqu\u00edmicos favorece una alteraci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida y duradera de la microbiota intestinal, pues viene a ser pr\u00e1cticamente lo mismo que estar continuamente tomando antibi\u00f3ticos por boca. Adem\u00e1s, al estar tan expuestos a estos productos de manera frecuente, los microorganismos de nuestro intestino acaban desarrollando resistencias microbianas por \u201cselecci\u00f3n natural\u201d, como cuando tomamos muchos antibi\u00f3ticos. Estos g\u00e9rmenes multirresistentes tendr\u00e1n m\u00e1s poder patog\u00e9nico y provocar\u00e1n infecciones m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles de tratar. Asimismo, influir\u00e1n de manera negativa en la microbiota vaginal y urogenital, pues, como sabes, todo est\u00e1 relacionado. Un ejemplo de ello es la posible relaci\u00f3n existente entre el consumo de carne de pollos o cerdos tratados con antibi\u00f3ticos y las cistitis infecciosas. Algunos art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos han relacionado la presencia de cepas uropat\u00f3genas de la bacteria\u00a0<em>Escherichia coli<\/em>\u00a0en la carne de estos animales con un mayor riesgo de padecer infecciones urinarias de repetici\u00f3n, aunque existe cierta controversia al respecto. Se puede suponer que, adem\u00e1s de actuar a nivel local, cuando ingerimos ciertas de estas substancias antibi\u00f3ticas o similares una parte de ellas ser\u00e1 absorbida por el intestino, pasar\u00e1 a nuestro cuerpo, y ser\u00e1 eliminada al menos en parte por los ri\u00f1ones hacia la orina. Por ello es probable que este sea otro de los mecanismos por el cual la microbiota urinaria se ve alterada cuando este tipo de productos est\u00e1 presente en nuestros alimentos.
